I was sent over to an alternative school for fighting, alot believe my punishment was unfair can sum1 help me?

ok september 21 i was in the cafeteria at my school, and i was around a fight, i tried to break it up but got punched in my head and the kid kept trying to fight me so i started defending myself. At this time there was another fight going on so it was hard for any teacher to break it up,they suspended us all with a board hearing, my record is clean,i made all a’s, and they sent me over here, all the teachers and princlple over here say i shouldn’t be over here i should be in the high school,two teachers wrote me reccomendation letters and during my appeal when this was present and an aldult witness who seen me trying to break up the fight,they once again put me in th same place, now i’m going to have to appeal this to the school board but what can i do to help my case even more? they also say were over here for disorderly conduct charges but i’m were pretty sure i wasnt charged and only one kid was.Please someone help me!
my school doesnt have a zero tolerence policy either and in the code of conduct it’s 3-5 days for first offense and so on
