What is an alternative for building up muscles?

I am 21 years old and I work full time and I also go to school every night, so I have no time for exercising. I really want to exercise and get muscles, but by the time I am free all the gyms are closed already (late at night). What I want to know is if there is any kind of exercise I can do at home, and which ones are the most efficient for getting muscles quickly.
