Boys, school, friends, bras, whatever. Basically we don’t talk anything more than “How was your day?” “It was good”, so I find mostly anything more than that awkward.

But lately, we haven’t been fighting like crazy, but we’ve been arguing tons. More than that me and my step-father fight like crazy, we can’t either be near each other without fighting. I’m usually a very calm, low drama person but there is just something about him that makes me so mad…. anyways, living at home has been just kind of hard lately.

Well I’m a freshman in high school, I’m a good student, I am good at interviews and communicating to people, so I think that I could get into boarding school if I made sure to keep my grades perfect this year. While we’re not rich I think my parents could afford paying for boarding school especially if I could receive a scholarship (which is unlikely but still possible) or if I could receive financial aide (which I think I could get). Also, my only other sibling is going away to college next year, so they could just get both of us out at once, which I think would make it easier.

My real problem is that I feel like if I tell my mom that I want to go away, she’ll think the real problem is not just my life at home, but that I’m fighting with one of my friends at school. She always thinks that there is a deeper problem than there really is. When I wanted to quit the field hockey team she thought that I was fighting with someone on the team, when I really just didn’t like the sport that much. And when I told her that she didn’t believe me. She’s like that with everyyything.

I just want a way to tell her that I want to go away for school without her thinking that I’m some screwed-up-un-social child or something. I need to find a way to ask her because right now I find it really hard to talk to her about anything.
