If I applied to a police academy and met all the requirements, and was in good physical shape, what other reasons would they turn you down for?
How many students out of how many applicants are usually accepted?

I know it costs anywhere from 4-6 grand to go to the academy but do they offer financial aid? Also besides the 4-6 grand do you still have to pay for classes and books like at a university. I want to go the the Police Training Institute in Urbana Champaign Illinois.

Also are you paid anything while you’re in the academy? I plan on taking the NY police exam coming up and I was just wondering.
