I saw someone ask a ? about being an educated Trini. Would it be fair to say the average Trinidadian citizen living in Trinidad does not have a tertiary education or worse yet has not completed secondary school (or has less than 3 passes)?

I’m currently in year eleven and making college applications. I’m on course to getting 13 A* GCSEs at a comprehensive secondary school.
I’ve also heard that going to non-selective college and getting the top grades (e.g. AAA) suggests you did it on your own merits, as opposed to going to a grammar school.

I can’t find scholarships not funded by specific schools for students who cannot afford the secondary school (aka prep/boarding school) tuition, are there any? I am in a low income, divorced, family and my parents cannot afford it otherwise. Anyone know of anything?
